The Questions & The Answers

1.  Will my privacy be protected?
Absolutely.  Your services in our office are considered confidential, just as in any other professional health setting.

2. What are the fees for the different services at the Centre?

Fees vary based on type of service rendered.  A sliding scale is available for those persons who can demonstrate financial need.

3.  Will my health insurance cover the cost?

Probably.  This depends greatly on the type of coverage you provider offers under behavioral health/medicine.  The majority of our clients find their costs in our offices are covered, at least in part, by their insurance.  Please note:  The Centre operates as a fee-for-service practice; meaning at the present time we are not filing third-party (health insurance) claims on the behalf of our clients.  Although we understand this requires an extra step on our client's end (filing the claims), it helps us to keep our fees quite reasonable when compared to the current market.

4. If I enter into psychotherapy at the Centre, how long will I be in counseling and how long does each session last?

Each session lasts 45 to 50 minutes with extended sessions available.  Hypnotherapy work requires anywhere from an hour to two and a half hours per session depending on the treatment goal.   How long your work at the Centre will take can only be determined by you and your therapist.  Ultimately, our goal is to reach a juncture at which you, the client, are confident you have the tools and resources you need to move forward in the life that you desire...and deserve. completion as well.

5.  Why does the Centre offer hypnosis as one of the options?

Hypnosis is an effective and scientifically relevant approach to managing a wide range of situations.  Although it is most commonly advertised for habit/addiction cessation (such as smoking or weight loss), it is also proven effective for pain management, assisted recovery and symptom management in long-term illnesses and is a very valuable tool in dealing with anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, stress, improving study habits and self confidence and overcoming a specific hurdle (such as in sports performance).

6.  How is a hypnotherapist credentialed?

Hypnosis is one treatment modality that is NOT regulated by legislation in the state of Texas (and in many other states as well).  This means that Texas credentials a Hypnotherapist differently than a Hypnotist.  A hypnotherapist is a clinically licensed psychotherapist who has specialized training in the use of hypnosis and a hypnotist is a practitioner who's training is limited to the use of hypnosis only.  There are hypnotist training programs requiring only a few hours of study to carry the credentials C.H.T. (certified hypnotist).  Although kind and compassionate, these practitioners have an obviously limited skill set.

The Centre provides hypnosis work through both Hypnotherapists as well as Hypnotists however we require our C.H.T's to have several hundred hours of training before joining our team and our clinically licensed practitioners to either work under supervision of a therapist with advanced certification or have taken more than the basic coursework required in their graduate programs.

The Centre's founder is a licensed clinical practitioner who also carries advanced credentials in hypnotherapy and supervises all other hypnosis practitioners.

7.  Will my insurance pay for a hypnosis session?

Health Insurance benefits are based on the traditional medical model.  If the session can be related specifically to a clinically recognized diagnosis insurance might not cover the cost.  Examples of hypnosis work insurance will likely not reimburse for might include:  enhancing cognition and learning, training in self hypnosis techniques,  and learning to use hypnosis for meditation practices.  Hypnotherapy for depression, anxiety and pain management is often reimbursed (percentage of reimbursement is dependent on your policy).

8.  How will I know if Hypnosis is right for me?

Talk with the therapist.  S/he will take a very thorough history to determine whether or not hypnosis will be beneficial.  Hypnosis may also be suggested during the course of more traditional counseling work. As with any health care services, be a good consumer, ask questions until you are satisfied with the answers.

9.  Are past-life regression hypnosis sessions available?

There is a strong belief permeating many philosophical and religious orientations supporting the idea of reincarnation (including some Jewish and Christian societies).  Past-life regression is possible through hypnosis and can be a valuable tool in discovering (and releasing) health and relationship patterns that are detrimental. PLR (past-life regression) is a complex process and should only be conducted by a hypnotherapist especially trained in this particularly modality.  The Centre's founder is one such practitioner.  Please call to discuss whether or not PLR supports your personal goals.
