Case Studies
Occasionally clients grant permission for anonymous summaries of their cases to be shared for educational purposes.  Although identifying information has been eliminated, these are actual case reviews of clients who have received benefit from clinical hypnosis at the Centre.
A young woman, mid teen years, was referred to the Centre for hypnosis.  She had experienced several dozen episodes of syncope (fainting) in a variety of settings over a period of several months.  Her physicians and family became concerned that the repeated falls would create a head injury.  The client had been evaluated by a neurologist, pediatrician, psychiatrist, and had been treated for several months in traditional psychology.  She continued to experience syncope episodes with none of the typical warning signs (light headedness, tunnel vision, changes in hearing).

Her psychiatrist suggested hypnosis and referred her to the Centre.  Working with the centre's founder, the client entered into an intensive hypnosis treatment plan which eventually eliminated the syncope episodes.  Approximately 6 months later, the client experienced two new episodes; however, with these recurrences, she experienced the warning signs which had been previously missing, increasing her ability to keep herself safe.  Because the client was more aware of her surroundings and the experiences leading up to the two new fainting spells, the root cause of the episodes was identified and steps could be taken to eliminate all further events.  Another 6 months have passed as of this date (February 2010), and she remains episode free.
A note about clinical hypnosis:

Hypnosis, like any treatment intervention, is not a magic wand.  It can; however, for many clients, make a difference in symptoms which  seem to be non-responsive to other forms of treatment.

As new case studies are released for public review, we will share them here.
